The EDIsecure ILU base plate serves the purpose of aligning and holding an EDIsecure Inline Lamination Unit to an XID printer. The solid aluminum base plate runs the full length of the printer and lamination unit so that all feet on both units fit into the eight holes of the base plate. 

Note: The EDIsecure base plate is required only if your work surface is not level.
